This course would be suitable if you are working at Entry Level 2, 3 or Level 1 and need a supported course to improve your transition from school into College or employment.
The programme will help you learn the core skills needed to develop your personal, social and educational wellbeing. It will develop your confidence in decision making, living independently, and getting into employment.
This qualification will allow you to achieve either an extended award or certificate, depending on your individual needs.
On successful completion of the course, you will have the opportunity to progress to a higher level course within a diverse range of vocational areas on offer at the College.
You will be expected to participate in a work experience placement.
You will need a satisfactory interview.
The course is assessed through a combination of coursework and practical skill assessment.
You could progress to a Foundation Studies course or Level 1 vocational courses in a variety of subjects. A Supported Internship could also be considered, if you are keen to get into employment and have an EHCP.
You could consider a junior position, but further training is probably a better option.
