This is an introductory course to develop employability skills and preparation for work or volunteering.
During the course, you will complete a range of units to enhance and develop your confidence, and independence preparing you for the next step in your life. Lessons include catering, gardening, enterprise activities, and exploring work and interview skills. You will also have the opportunity to participate in local community projects.
Functional Maths and English are also part of this programme.
A satisfactory interview to ensure needs are met.
The course is assessed through a combination of coursework and practical tasks.
You can progress to the Foundation Studies course or a Vocational Studies Level 1 programme.
You will be invited to attend an introductory ‘Welcome Week’ and assessment, before starting your course.
To enhance your employability skills there will be opportunities to attend work placements and participate in com,munity projects, allowing you to apply the skills and knowledge you have gained in lessons to different environments.
