The content of this qualification is comprised of all the required elements to work effectively as a Beauty Therapist including health & safety, client care and communication, electrical face and body treatments, and body massage. In addition, you will learn about anatomy and physiology for beauty therapies.

Course content

During the course, you will develop an underpinning knowledge and understanding of the practical skills required for this qualification.

The course also includes enrichment opportunities (additional to your qualification), to enhance employability skills and meet industry trends. These include opportunities to take part in workshops, introducing Level 4 services and other relevant industry skills.

Work experience is a compulsory element of the course to give you a realistic experience of working in the industry alongside your studies.

What do I need?

This course builds on existing knowledge and understanding of Beauty Therapy gained at Level 2, enabling learners to expand the scope of their technical skills to prepare for employment as a Beauty Therapist.

Retaking GCSE English and Maths as part of your programme is required if you do not have Grade 4.

How will I be assessed?

This course is assessed by a combination of practical observations and external written exams. You will also need to compile a portfolio of evidence.

Where can it take me?

You can progress to a range of higher level VTCT qualifications to complement your studies. These could include certificates, diplomas or awards in: Salon Management, Micropigmentation, Advanced Beauty Therapy, Permanent Hair Removal & Skin Rejuvenation and Skin Blemish Removal.

Additional information

This course is ideal if you are interested in working as a Beauty Therapist in a Beauty Salon, Day Spa including on cruise ships, in hotels, hospitals/care homes and HM prisons or in Product Manufacturing, Training and Self Employment.

All timetables will incorporate evening classes running until approximately 8pm to ensure learners are work-ready and prepared for industry expectations.
