Accounting is a dynamic and highly valued subject that develops an understanding of how businesses record, analyse and communicate financial information. This course provides students with the opportunity to develop knowledge of key accounting principles, financial reporting, management accounting and ethical decision-making. Students will learn how accountants support business success by preparing financial statements, analysing performance, managing costs and providing information to support strategic decision-making. The course develops logical problem-solving skills, analytical thinking and the ability to communicate financial information effectively.

You will need GCSE’s with 2 grade 6s and 3 grade 5s including English Language and Maths.

Assessment is by two written examinations at the end of the second year, each worth 50% of the A Level.

No previous study of Accounting is required. However, students should be comfortable working with numerical information and be prepared to develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills. A scientific and methodical approach to learning will support success on this course.
