This course provides many opportunities for students, from gaining useful business knowledge to being able to demonstrate key employability skills. The range of units allow you to get an insight into various concepts and theories, which are related to real life scenarios. Students who have their own business ideas find this course useful as it contains finance aspects, marketing, building customer relations, as well as making your own web page.

Course content

As part of this course you will be taking part in work experience which will further enhance your knowledge of how businesses work and develop.

What do I need?

You will need to have achieved at least 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 and above, including English, and Maths. It is a requirement, however, that you retake GCSE English and Maths as part of your programme, if you do not have Grade 4. This will ensure you can progress to a Level 3 course or apprenticeship, and will improve your future employment prospects.

How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed through coursework and external exams.

Where can it take me?

You can progress to a Level 3 vocational course, including Business.

Additional information

You could consider a junior position that is Finance or Law based, although Retail is also very popular. Other roles could include working in Business Administration, Customer Service, Marketing or Management.
