The Level 1 Business course is the ideal starting point for anyone looking for a career in the exciting and varied world of business. You may be unsure of what area of business you’d like to work in and the level 1 is ideal for providing you with many transferable skills.

Designed to teach and develop practical business skills, you will develop a variety of skills that will help in all aspects of life, not just in the world of business.

With core topics such as research and planning, time management, and working with others, you will learn how to run meetings, brand a product, help with the running of events, create visual displays, and pitch a business idea.

Course content

Units studied can include:

Being organised
Developing a personal progression plan
Branding a product
Presenting a business idea
Communicating with customers
Recording income and expenditure

All students are expected to complete a 1 week work experience placement

What do I need?

You will need to complete a Literacy and Numeracy test plus a satisfactory interview.

How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed through assignments.

Where can it take me?

You can progress to a Level 2 vocational course, such as Business Level 2.
