A Level Law enables learners to develop their ability to analyse both legal rules and principles and factual issues. It enables learners to construct persuasive legal arguments and to evaluate the strength of such arguments. It also enables learners to develop the ability to think critically about the role of law in society.
You will study the dynamics of legal decision making equipping you with the skills necessary to study law at higher education. It has a broad focus so that you will experience a range of legal disciplines. It also provides you with the opportunity to demonstrate your ability to construct and develop a sustained line of reasoning which is coherent, relevant, substantiated and logically structured.
You will need GCSEs with 2 at Grade 6s and 3 at Grade 5s including English Language. Retaking GCSE Maths as part of your programme is required if you do not have grade 4.
This course is assessed by examinations in the second year of study.
You can progress onto an exciting range of higher-level courses, including a university degree in a related subject such as, finance, medical ethics, and international human rights.
Law A level combines well with Accounts, Business Studies, Psychology, Sociology, English, History.
