This qualification is designed for those who want to work as a carpenter/joiner in the construction sector. It provides learners with the skills and knowledge to progress into employment or further study in site carpentry/joinery. What do I need?

Completion of Level 1 in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent experience is recommended.

A grade 3 in GCSE Maths and English is also required.

How will I be assessed?

Written multiple-choice tests covering construction principles, health and safety, and technical knowledge
Practical assessments on first and second fix carpentry, structural work, and maintenance tasks

Where can it take me?

Learners can progress directly into employment as a site carpenter, an apprenticeship in the construction industry or further study.
